Getting a new phone through verizon?

I want to get an env2 REALLY bad, but I%26#039;ve only had my plan for a year so far. Is it possible to get a new phone right now? Does getting a new phone now only restart my contract? That wouldn%26#039;t be a problem, because I plant on staying with them forever anyways. Does your number change if you do this before your contract is up, and it gets extended? How does this work? Thanks! |||i work for verizon wirless and u can upgrade every year but right now the env2 screens have stopped workin i have had 8 in my store in the passed 2 weeks so best bet is to go with the DARE VOYAGER or The Palm Treo 750 they are are best phone and the choclate is great!!!! and when u do up grade and u plan to stay with us for EVER lol go for the 2 year contract u can up grade at 8 months and then again at 2 years lol|||Yes, they extend your contract out another year or how ever long you have your contract for (2 yrs?). They will not if you buy the phone outright from somewhere and then transfer the information over through them. If you buy the phone via your plan then they will extend the contract. It is very expensive to buy the phone outright. Beware of buying one on ebay. My sister got one for her kid on there and it was a stolen phone from verizon. Well that is what verizon thought. They could not run the serial number, etc...
