How can someone find out your private and unlisted home phone number?

My mother is divorcing my psychotic step father and had her number changed and made private as well as unlisted. The phone calls stopped from him until his %26quot;friend in low places%26quot; or he found out the number. Only I, my sister, my mother, and her work know the number and none of us talk to or even like our stepfather and I am dying to know how he got it. Do you know? How can someone find out your private and unlisted home phone number?Unlisted or in some places, %26quot;unpublished%26quot; simply means the number is not in the common phone book you find in a phone booth, nor it is in the phone listings used for directory %26quot;information%26quot; when you dial 411. However, it IS listed in MANY other places. You might even find it in a %26quot;reverse%26quot; directory which many public libraries have where you can use the number to find out who it belongs to as well as in the usual manner of looking up names. And it is available to every law enforcement and emergency service organization. Just being unlisted means very little as only 2 places are affected, the regular phone book and 411 information. All anyone need do is simply look in the right place and the numbers are there. Many online services will find the number for you for a small fee, a few dollars. I have a private investigator friend and from time to time I have helped him locate people who do not want to be found. It is actually quite easy most of the time. Every once in a while, he needs to be in two places at the same time. The only people really hard (next to impossible) to locate are those involved with Federal witness protection...

people have ways of finding out things..
Get a cell phone and cancel the home phone. do not give out the number. try that.

I would say he got it from a %26quot;low source%26quot;.

Secondly, get a %26quot;no-contact%26quot; order. The police can help with this.

Thirdly, have her attorney get copies of the phone records from the phone company.

Lastly, Add a charge of harassment on top of the divorce.

Home phone records can be found online using an information service, (usually a charge for this, background, criminal check and so on...including phone numbers).

Cell phones are not included in these records. Cell phones are also not listed. They are private numbers.
Find who owns a cell phone or landline number. Results include name, address, and more.
