I just got a text message from 5000, that said someone you know gave me your phone number, you'll never guess?

I've only had this number for a short time %26amp; I have only given it out to family %26amp; two guys I went out with that I no longer see, but one of them had my old Metro phone %26amp; I asked for it back %26amp; instead he offered to buy it for $50. Two hours later I started getting strange messages saying things like: someone gave me your number, but you'll never guess who, to find out go to: crissymod1..., but I did not go to that website. I do not belong to any dating websites %26amp; when I register for websites, I put my home number, so how did I start getting messages like this? Is it that easy for someone else to just give out your number %26amp; for me to get messages like this? I was thinking of changing my number, but then I would have to contact everyone in my family %26amp; it would be an inconvenience. How do I prevent getting text messages like this?I just got a text message from 5000, that said someone you know gave me your phone number, you'll never guess?Well first of all I would go to the site and see what you can do about cancel your number from receiving text. Since you don't remember what the messages said some required that you send a %26quot;stop%26quot; to a different number not to the number that you sent a message so that might be something to consider. Anyways I would go to the site look for a number to cancel and if their isn't anything try to contact support and tell them your situation, you don't want to change your number not only is it inconvient but you will also be charge for a new number, next time be more careful who you give your money out, i just got a phone not even my parents have my number....muahahahahaha:D

NOTE** Maybe someone sign you up to this site, might want to cancel ASAP!!!!!

There are web sites in which you can first register youself and after that you can add any of your friends mobile to send the bulk messages and they have the catagories and sub catagories according to there taste.

These type of web sites were started just give a platform to people who think on similar way and have givne them a common platform for them or the group of people who can conevy a common topic like if you have an group and all of them like Music then you can go that web site and enroll yourself and also enroll your friend even with out there consent and they will start getting messages.

This is now gravely misused and I was also one of the victim once and used to got 30 to 40 messages and I didnt know who sent that and added me in those web site of mass message sending.

So I tried very hard to find the sourse of the message like you got it from 5000 and you also may get some more information in the messages like they wrote if you want more information please log on to a web site.

So if thats there then go to that web site and see if there is any way to unsubscribe it or you can write a mail to the Admin or who so ever controlling the web site.

If this doesnt help you then I suggest either you ignore these messages or file a complaint against the web site or change the number.

If you would have given me some more details of the type of messages you are getting I would have helped you much.

So if have more details then write here.
